Bringing Physical and Cloud Infrastructure Under Coordinated Support

The business relied on physical and cloud systems to run applications and provide access to shared resources. It needed additional capacity and a support approach that covered the infrastructure after installation.

Innovacloud addressed deployment and ongoing operation together, so that new resources arrived with a clear place in the monitoring and maintenance process.

Computing capacity, storage and maintenance had to be considered as connected responsibilities. A server could be running while storage approached capacity or required patches remained outstanding.

The business needed visibility into those conditions and an organised way to act on them. Updates also had to fit around business activity, with checks to establish that services remained operational afterwards.

Innovacloud deployed physical and cloud servers alongside the required storage. We configured monitoring for availability, resource usage and storage capacity, with alerts to highlight conditions requiring attention.

We then established a planned patching process covering update requirements, maintenance windows and post-installation checks.

Windows Server workloads ran across physical systems, VMware vSphere and Azure Virtual Machines. Azure Monitor provided centralised alerts, Azure Update Manager supported scheduled patch deployment, and Azure Backup protected the relevant cloud workloads. Storage capacity and recovery responsibilities were included in the handover.

This connected the initial build with the work required to operate it. The business gained an infrastructure environment with defined monitoring and maintenance responsibilities from the outset.
